The Train of La Rhune

La Rhune is the first top of the Pyrenees. With its 905 meters high, La Rhune overlooks the Basque coast, one of the most beautiful landscapes. Discover around the mountain, the 7 Basque provinces, the other tops of the Pyrenees, the endless beaches of the Landes et of the Basque coast, from Biarritz until San Sebastian ; On the top of La Rhune, enjoy the three shops, called Ventas, where you will live on the Spanish time.

This authentic vintage rack railway train dating from 1924 will take you on a 40-minute ride, in 905 meters in height on the mitical summit of the Basque Country.

As you go up, you will be able to discover the specific fauna and flora of the Basque mountains.
On the massif live the pottok, a small and sturdy Basque pony that roams about freely, as well as the manech red head sheep.

Low Season: from 9:30 until 12:00 and from 14:00 until 16:00
High Season (from 08/07 to 01/09) from 8:30 until 17:30 - non stop

A train every 40 minutes

Possible cancelation depending on the weather for the security of the travelers.

You can choose any train you want, to go down. The minimum time at the summit is 40 minutes.
